ACOLYTE MINISTRY

Ministry Purpose:
This ministry exists to help Children learn to honor God through their actions and performance as acolytes, as the “Bearer of His Light” during worship.

Any child, second grade or older, at Grace is welcome to become an Acolyte. A 20 minute training is given by the Acolyte Coordinator. Training sessions are scheduled periodically throughout the year.

Acolyte Responsibilities:

1. Attend a training session with the Acolyte Coordinator.
2. Arrive 10 minutes before the start of the Worship Service.
3. Prepare by wearing robe and standing ready to walk down the aisle
   with the light.
4. Light the candles responsibly.
5. Extinguish the candles at the end of the service.
6. Walk down the aisle and return the robe and light.
7. May help with Communion as needed.
