Covenant Groups
Covenant Discipleship (CD) Groups are small groups of up to seven persons who meet together for one hour each week to hold themselves accountable for their discipleship.  The group members do this by a means of a covenant or "promise" which they themselves write and agree to uphold.

The CD group format allows Christians to share their weekly triumphs and challenges in upholding their group Christian covenant.  Members of the group support and encourage one another in Christian living.

The meetings are task oriented gatherings of faithful Christians whose take is to help each other become better disciples of Jesus Christ through love and acceptance.

The general charge of the Covenant Group is:  "To witness to Jesus Christ in the world, and to follow his teachings through acts of compassion, justice, worship, and devotion under the guidance of the Holy Spirit" and becomes the starting point by which the group creates their personal covenants.

Each week, the group begins with a prayer, and then reviews the Covenant by which they live, clause  by clause.  Each member of the group gives an account of his or her discipleship during the past week in light of the Covenant.  The facilitator for the meeting rotates among the membership with no one as permanent leader.  The duration of the meeting is limited to one hour--requiring a brisk and focused pace.  As the group develops skill and Christian bonding, sharing increasingly takes place in an atmosphere of trust and Christian development.

The Covenant and weekly practice of mutual accountability and support help us to be mindful of all the teachings of Jesus; those that are convenient, as well as those that are not.  It ensures that everyone's gifts and graces are recognized and fulfilled.
