CONGREGATIONAL CARE MINISTRY

This ministry team provides Lay pastoral care and encouragement to the church family who are ill, recovery, homebound, or in special need. The ministry works to carry the love of God to all in our church family who are experiencing a season of need.

The Congregational Care team:

  • Prepares and deliver meal

  • Write and mail cards

  • Visit Others (nursing home/funeral home)
  • Makes Calls to those in need
  • Deliver rosebuds for the birth of a baby
  • Help in other ways as needed

Ministry Roles
The Congregational Care Ministry is comprised of a Team Leader and team members.

Director of Congregation Care
Service Purpose: Lay pastoral care ministry which provides care and encouragement to the church family who are ill, recovery, homebound, or in special need.

  • Responsibilities: Recruit and training members for the team.
  • Identify needs in the congregation.
  • Coordinate meals, cards, visits, and calls.
  • Provide Pastor with weekly updates of visits/calls.

Responsible to: Pastor

Service Blessing: You can use your compassion and kindness to show God’s mercy and grace by caring for others in need.

Skills/Gifts Needed: Compassion, mercy, administration, communication skills

Time Commitment: 2 hours a week/if needed for meals/calls/visitsmeeting 2 hrs/month week.

Training Needed: Annual Ministry Leadership Training,

Number of servants needed for this role: 1

Congregation Care Team Member

Service Purpose: Demonstrate compassion by extending care members of the church family who are ill, recovery, homebound, or in special need.

  • Responsibilities: Prep and deliver meals, write cards, visits (nursing home/funeral home) or make calls; deliver rosebuds for the birth of a baby
  • Provide CC Director with weekly updates of visits/calls.

Responsible to: Director of Congregational Care

Service Blessing: You can use your compassion and kindness to show God’s mercy and grace by caring for others in need.

Skills/Gifts Needed: Compassion, mercy, helps, service, communication skills

Time Commitment: 1 hour a week/if needed for meals/calls/visits
meeting 2 hrs/month week.

Training Needed: Role training with Director of Congregational Care

Number of servants needed for this role: Unlimited
