Join us at Grace UMC for the first of three special conversations about homosexuality, the recent Supreme Court decision, the United Methodist doctrine, and your Christian discipleship.
When the Supreme Court ruling was announced, the news media and social media went a little crazy. Now that things have settled down and folks understand what actually happened, Grace UMC will be holding three listening sessions to help you discover more about what this means for your discipleship, the role and responsibilities of the UMC, and more.
We’ll begin with a meal around 5:15pm. Reservations are required. Since this is a special event, we will not be using the standing reservation list. You must call the office if you wish to join us for the meal. The suggested donation is $7.00 per person or $20.00 per family.
To reserve a meal, call us at 731 664-9118. You may leave a message with your name, phone number, and number of guests attending.
Conversation will move into the sanctuary at 6pm. We’ll ask and answer some specific questions:
- How will the Supreme Court decision affect our wedding policy at Grace?
- What is the United Methodist doctrine and how will this ruling affect it?
- What does this mean for our discipleship?
If you have questions ahead of the gathering, please reply to this email. Most of the best answers will come from our time together, but I will answer them as best I can.
You and your families are invited as are your neighbors.
The United Methodist Church is open to all persons
